Tackling Smoking in 21st Century Britain

Conference aim

The UK Centre for Tobacco Control Studies hosted an international conference to mark the first five years of the Centre's work.  The conference outlined the results of the research, knowledge transfer and public engagement activities of the Centre, as well as drawing on the expertise of a range of collaborators from the UK and overseas.  The conference showcased recent and innovative work aimed at tackling all aspects of the tobacco epidemic.

Target audience

An international audience, encompassing researchers, policy makers, professionals working in tobacco control and cessation, users of public health evidence and members of the public.

Themes

The conference covered three broad themes - harm reduction, cessation, and prevention.  Examples of topics that these themes covered included:
